About the Game
What is a Dressing Room?
A dressing room is a commitment free RP where there is a setting but players are free to make up their own stories and have their characters have their own adventures. Think of it like a multi-person musebox.
Why did you decide to do this?
Honestly, I missed the chill RP from back when I started in this hobby. Star Trek was always one of my favorite fandoms to RP from, so I decided to just go for it.
Why the Guardian of Forever?
I needed a way to get Star Trek characters from all of their respective universes and time periods to gather in one place. The Guardian of Forever provided that mechanism. My other thought was Q of course, but I figured someone might want to play him.
Is there going to be a plot?
No, but there may be monthly activities if anyone wants to participate, like a writing prompt or a mingle post at Quark's bar at Not!Deep Space Nine. If anyone has any suggestions or want to run something larger with optional participation from the player base, please PM the mod account.
Applying
You said commitment free, why is there an application?
The main reason for the application is to make sure everyone has accepted the rules and declared that they are over 18. The secondary purpose is to collect player contact information so players can easily talk to each other.
What Characters are accepted?
Any canon, any assumed to exist character, or Original Character based in the Star Trek Universe is accepted. If you can find them on Memory Alpha or Memory Beta, they are fair game.
This includes every series, every movie, every Short Trek, every novel, every comic book, and every Universe. For example, if you would like to apply for Mirror Universe Seven of Nine, you can do that even though we haven't seen her on screen she is assumed to exist so she is applicable.
Crossover Characters are accepted (ie The Doctor featured in the comics)
Reasonable AUs and CRAUs are accepted.
Duplicate Characters are welcome.
Real people are not accepted (ie: No Stephen Hawking)
Should I fill out the application for each character?
Yes, please fill out the application for each character that you would like to bring into the game. Eventually, I'm going to organize the spreadsheet by character, to make it easier for players to find one another.
IC Posting
What can I post?
You can post whatever you'd like! If you and a few TOS players want to go hang out on Deep Space Nine, go for it! If you play Boimler and you want him to go visit Tom Paris, have at it! If you want to go play Robin Hood, you do you! It's one of the reasons I chose The Guardian of Forever, it can send you anywhere and bring you back to where you started easily.
Everyone is welcome to post their own arrival posts too! The more the merrier.
How do I post it?
There are some basic guidelines.
1. Please use the heading posted on the left side of the main community.
2. Please tag your post with your username and the usernames of others involved.
3. Please be sure to use content warnings.
4. If it is a NSFW post please tag, use a cut and lock it to the community only.
What about sex can there be smut?
Yes indeed. Sex is welcome. Please tag, cut and lock, just incase anyone is looking at the community in a place where all of that popping up on the screen would be uncomfortable.
What happens if I don't like someone else's storyline?
Your fun does not equal someone else's fun. Just scroll on by.

For the current show (at the time of this writing it's Strange New Worlds) please use a cut for any discussion. A lot of people (especially international fans) haven't seen it yet.
